a healthy Weiss. a Franzen who gives a (frank). a Howard who doesnt play like poop. a top two defenseman. telling Cleary to (frank) off, Kindl and Quincey too. playing the young kids more.
all of these things would help a lot. |

I love Helm. He represents the work ethic that all NHL players should embody. Always seems to give 110% when on the ice and works to better himself 120% off the ice. Wish he would stay healthy. |

Not a bad deal at all but I would rather give up one of the many prospects and keep the 1st in this draft or a prospect and a later pick. Would also prefer for the Wings to go after a top end defenseman rather than a forward. |

It's possible the wings move someone to the wing since they have so many centres...
40-13-14
93-90-21
15-43-26
20-41-8
I know these arm chair line ups never mean anything I just like to think what I would do. I think helm and sheahan are both worthy of more than 4th line minutes. I've always wanted to see Gus and Pav play together...their play making ability makes my imagination drool...then hopefully Tatar could bring some energy to those two guys and Weiss can find his grit again!...that third line could be a nice little hitting line as helm isn't afraid to hit and Jurco doesn't seem to mind every now and then. Sheahan is also a big boy and should be a little more physical...then the fourth line just has some hard working grinders, also you don't wanna hear it but a healthy cleary could push miller for that spot. |

In a perfect world where everyone is healthy and playing up their abilities (but not so perfect that the Wings trade for another top six forward or Mantha is completely on fire and ready for the NHL), I'd like to see the Wings mostly roll four lines with the top two units playing a little bit more than the other two. Hopefully that will keep guys fresh and not as injury prone.
Something like:
Zetterberg Datsyuk Abdelkader
Franzen Weiss Nyquist
Tatar Sheahan Alfredson
Miller Helm Jurco/Cleary
Odd guys out:
Andersson (backup center, still think he has some upside)
Glendening (I like him but he's not a very good center, so backup winger).
Really you can mix and match all the right wings. I've never been a fan of Abdelkader on the top line with Datsyuk but my gut tells me if you add Alfie/Cleary to the top line you have too many old guys; if you add Nyquist there are too many small guys (my close second favorite); and Jurco is still too green. Abdelkader isn't really a power forward in my book, he's not even a Homer replacement, but he's the closest they have besides Franzen right now.
Miller is really just in there for the PK, but everybody else should be able to contribute offensively. I think Helm and Jurco (maybe even a healthy Cleary) could team up and generate some offensive (as opposed to Miller Helm Glendenning which would mostly just sit on the bench until it's PK time).
Not likely to happen, but it would be nice after the last two years. |

Apparently Babcock threw out playing Helm on Datsyuk's Wing which is interesting. I've seen some crazy combinations people are making but something like this might work.
Franzen Zetterberg Nyquist
Helm Datsyuk Alfredsson
Tatar Sheahan Abdelkader
Miller Weiss Jurco/Cleary
Knowing Babcock he's probably just trying to figure out how to keep Glendenning in the lineup even though he's the Wings 8th best center (not counting guys in GR). |

Don't mind helm on the wing but preferably not on the top line. Spending 5 mil on the 4th line centre seems unlikely lol
Z-Pav- Gus
Mule-Weiss-Tatar
Helm-sheahan-Jurco
Miller/cleary-glendening-Abby
If they sign alfy then Jurco unfortunately is likely out...meaning Tatar to third and alfy on second line lol

I'd let Helmer center the first line. Let Dats play wing. |

Just put Cleary on every line since KH/MB think so frog highly of him.
Don't ever use a spot for someone who hits back either, cause we like to whine when DRWs ir list is long w/cheap shot receptors. FAs may come if we protect our players, and we don't want that huh? |

So with ville leino being invited to Boston. Got me thinking what we got for him when we traded him to Philly way back.
Ole-Kristian Tollefsen and a 5th.
Whats ever happened to Ole-Kristian Tollefsen?
Who did we draft with that pick.
Not that it's important because we didn't need leino |
